After winning rave reviews and four film awards for her performance in Ishqiya, Vidya Balan being a part of the sequel was a forgone conclusion. The actress even attended the party where Vishal Bhardwaj announced Ishqiya 2.
However, the news is that the actress will not be a part of the film in question. While Naseeruddin Shah and Arshad Warsi will carry on the legacy of Ishqiya in the sequel as the male leads.
According to a source, director Abhishek Chaubey's script for the sequel doesn't have a role, which requires Vidya. "Naseeruddin Shah and Arshad Warsi do fall in love again in the sequel but not with Vidya. They fall in love with two different girls," said the source.
Also, to play one of the two leading ladies in the film, Bhardwaj and Chaubey have approached Madhuri Dixit. "Madhuri asked for a very high fee. So we don't know whether she is a part of the film, yet," concluded the source.
For Vidya Balan, who at a media event had ambitously asked Shah Rukh Khan and Hollywood actor Hugh Jackman to star with her in Ishqiya 2, the film will now remain just a dream.
On the other hand, Madhuri, who had some free time before starting her shoot for Sanjay Dutt's version on Satte Pe Satta, to which she had reportedly given her nod, might just be the next Ishqiya lady.
