Rohit Shetty directs promo of Bigg Boss 5

Rohit Shetty is basking in all the glory of the success of his latest film Singham. But the director is not sitting on his laurels and the workaholic that he is, Rohit is already down to some serious work.

Rohit is busy directing actors and friends Sanjay Dutt and Salman Khan in the promos of the hit TV show Bigg Boss season 5. In fact Shetty without taking a break started the shoot of the promo, the day Singham released.

Despite news doing the rounds of a spat between Sanju and Sallu at Maanyata's birthday bash last Thursday night, the duo shot for the promo with Rohit Shetty at a studio in Mumbai. It will be interesting to see what magic Rohit can create in directing the deadly duo together.

I live life on my own terms Katrina Kaif

Katrina Kaif will be seen as a rockstar in her forthcoming film Mere Brother Ki Dulhann. The metamorphosis of the actress, better known as the Barbie doll of Bollywood, is stark.

In her last film, Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara, Katrina was seen riding a bike. Definitely a change from the Kat who looked pretty in pink.

"I live life on my own terms. And I work on my own terms. I have always done the best I could. I am not disappointed with the glamour quotient of my earlier films," says Katrina Kaif.

However, she rather loves the new 'bindaas' image. "I am too young to not enjoy these films. This is the fun side of filmmaking. As an actress, I don't see any harm in it," reveals the actress.

But being cool too has its limits. Talking about her rockstar avatar in shorts, the actress says, "Well, they aren't mini shorts. So what's wrong? And you know what, whenever I'll wear shorts, I'll ensure that I won't wear a tight tee." And unlike most rockstars, the actress who is seen smoking in the upcoming YRF film, swears never to smoke or drink on screen again. "That's not even the last thing I'll do.

I have a responsibility towards the society. I shall never cross the line of decency, I know, this far and no further," says Kat.

Katrina however, terms her sudden change in image as growth. And giving all credit to her directors and designers Rocky S and Aki Narula, the actress agrees to the fact that people do notice her more now. "And I am thankful for that," says the actress. She also agrees that her commercial viability has increased. "Being accepted in ad films, give me a big high," she confides.

Needless to say, the change in Kat's image has helped people perceive her as more than just a pretty porcelain doll. According to ad filmmaker Prahlad Kakkar, "Katrina is not being recognised as an actress. Not by anybody. Not in their wildest imaginations. She has been recognised as a star.

She is an object of great desire. She is not only male fantasy, but also teenagers' fantasy. And yes, in the ad world, her position has bettered. Nobody speaks badly about her. Lucky girl, nobody saw her first film with Mr Bachchan.

Mugdha Godse is dating Tanushree's ex

When Mugdha Godse's debut film Fashion released, her boyfriend Mithun Purandare booked an entire theatre for a private screening of the film for her family and friends. This was 2 years back.

Now, things are a lot different. Mugdha formally admitted to Mumbai Mirror that she and Mithun (who Mugdha had first met while shooting for a music video in 2003) are no longer together. She added, that both of them were very young when the relationship begun and realised that they were better off as friends than as a couple.

This leggy lass has however found herself a new boyfriend. Mugdha is dating Laxmikant's grandson, filmmaker Aditya Datt. The new couple in B-Town, Mugdha Godse (left) and Aditya Datt (right)

A source close to Aditya told us, "Mugdha was atttracted to Aditya ever since she worked in his comic caper Will You Marry Me? Slowly, the two of them started hanging out together."

Added the source, "With the passage of time, they realised that they had lot in common; could not stay away from each other. Mugdha is in love with Aditya. They are in a serious relationship now."

Prior to Mugdha, Aditya was dating actress Tanushree Dutta whom he befriended when he directed the college romance Aashiq Banaya Aapne. Aditya and Tanushree parted ways on a bad note.

Despite repeated efforts, Mugdha and Aditya remained unavailable for comment.

Shahid Kapoor is Ekta Kapoor's chhota rajan

Once Upon A Time In Mumbaai Part 2 just got bigger. After casting Akshay Kumar as Dawood, the older version of Emraan Hashmi's character in the first part, producer Ekta Kapoor and director Milan Luthria met up with Shahid Kapoor and asked him to play Chhota Rajan, Dawood's best man turned rival in the film.

The film, that goes on floors early next year, was launched amidst much fanfare at an award function during Diwali last year. A rough image of Akshay Kumar's look in the film was also unveiled during the event. However, the hunt for the other leading men and women for the film was still on.

While there were speculations about the choice of actress to play the role of Dawood's girl Mandakini in the film, nothing so far had been said about the other male lead. "The role of Chhota Rajan is as intense as the one Shahid Kapoor portrayed in Vishal Bhardwaj's Kaminey. He is a very good actor who has portrayed a wide range of characters till date. He is one of the top choices to play Chhota Rajan," revealed a source.

Akshay will pick up from where Emraan Hashmi left off in the first part. He will take his character forward. Shahid will be the new entrant in the story. "Where there's Dawood, there has to be his arch-rival Chhota Rajan. Shahid has been asked to play a very long and key role in the film," added the source.

However, Ekta's attempt at pulling off a casting coup for the project may face a few hitches. Kareena is said to be one of the leading contenders for the role of Dawood's lover Mandakini, one might wonder whether the actress or Shahid would want to work together again, considering the two did not even want to dub for their film Milenge Milenge together. But then again, Kareena reportedly, has no problem working with Shahid anymore.

Our source said, "Milan had long meetings with Shahid. He explained him the script and the character. Akshay is currently working out to get the rugged look required for him to play Dawood. Shahid too will require to work on his Chhota Rajan avatar."

Katrina Kaif beats Deepika Padukone, Kareena Kapoor

She talks about being the only actress in the Top 10 of the Zoom Supernova list

What do you attribute your enviable position in the industry to?

Luck and being honest and sincere about work has worked for me and helped me reach where I am. You don't really know how your film is going to turn out, but you can give it your best shot and hope the audience loves it. This has been my approach right from the beginning and it's helped me a lot in my journey.

All you can do is give the film your everything. I think what has also worked is that I have been able to relate to the characters I have played. Maybe, deep down the audience has connected to these roles and liked them.

Who do you consider your fan base?

I would like to believe it transcends all ages and barriers. I look forward to meeting fans during promotions when I travel across the country. It's humbling to see their love and support.

Also I look out for tips that some give me. Like if they don't like something I did or loved a particular role or scene, I try to keep that in mind as a reference point in the future. It's always nice to get feedback from your fans.

What kind of films excite you?

I make an attempt to do different kinds of films. There's no such formula for guaranteed success. Like Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara worked because of sheer sincerity.

How important are your fans?

I want to thank them for giving me so much love and acceptance, even with my flaws, be it my diction or anything else. They have stood by me and always believed in my work. I will keep doing work that won't ever let my fans down.

Ameesha Patel signs Priyadarshan as second director

Reviving family entertainment films and bringing back 'fun' days is what Ameesha Patel's production house strives to extend to the audience. And after announcing David Dhawan as the first director, Priyadarshan has been chosen as the second director on board for another project.

Naturally, Ameesha and her business partner Kuunal Goomer are ecstatic about making two films, both of which will go on floors by the year end, directed by two of the most talented directors in India.

"I will play the lead in both these films. With a family-based storyline, good music and directors like David and Priyan working on them, the films are bound to connect with the 6-80 years age group," promises Ameesha.

Incidentally, Patel and Priyan had decided to work together after BhoolBhulaiya which went on to become a hit. Ameesha was approached for Billoo but the role finally went to Lara Dutta, as Priyan felt Ameesha looked too young to play a mother of two kids opposite Irrfan Khan and Shah Rukh Khan. Now, the team is back together and Priyan has planned a big ensemble cast for the new film.

There's a strong buzz about Patel's actor-producer work profile as a big fat amount now rides on her petite shoulders. Apart from David and Priyan'sfilms, there's also Chatur Singh Two Star opposite Sanjay Dutt and another big budget film opposite a big star. "I am going to be in front of the camera and will also help with production work. Kuunal will look after the business aspect of these projects. I feel privileged to work with David and Priyan and really couldn't have asked for more."

Salman Khan's bodyguard dances to his tunes

Salman Khan has taken the subject of his film Bodyguard literally. First, the actor made his off-screen bodyguard, Shera, unveil the first look of the film.

Now, he has decided to feature Shera in the film's soundtrack video. When contacted, Shera said, "Yes, I am currently shooting for the song. Yeh sab kuch chamatkar se kam nahi hai mere liye.

Salman bhai is such a huge star and for someone like him showing such trust in me is nothing short of a miracle. In front of the whole world, he said that this is my most trusted man.

Isn't that great?" Shera also told Mumbai Mirror that he is apprehensive about the dance. "Salmanbhai just showed me some steps and I am rehearsing for that.

It is scary and I am nervous. I have given a couple of interviews in the past, but I am better off behind the camera." added Shera.

When asked about Salman's comment about the doom the actor would face if Shera ever wrote a book on him, Shera said, "Never. This is one thought which has never occurred to me. I cannot break his trust. He said all these things in jest and I would like to keep it that way."

Karisma Kapoor in Satte Pe Satta

After failing to convince Vidya Balan and then Aishwarya Rai Bachchan to play the female lead in his remake of Satte Pe Satta, Soham Shah seems to have finally found his lady to fill in Hema Malini's shoes.

Sanjay Dutt, the producer and the lead actor of the project asked Karisma Kapoor to step in as the heroine. Karisma is reading the script and is very much interested in doing the film, revealed sources.

The source added, "Sanjay wants a very Indian looking girl. After Aishwarya refused to work in the film despite Dutt trying hard to convince her, Dutt had approached his Lagey Raho Munnabhai costar Vidya Balan. She too had declined the offer.

A few days before he spoke to Vidya, Dutt had spoken to Karisma who at the time had clearly told him that she was not interested in making a comeback."

However, since then, Karisma changing her mind about returning to Bollywood, signed on Vikram Bhatt's project Dangerous Ishq. Sanjubaba, realising that Karisma was now serious about her comeback, approached the actress again. This time, Karisma showed keen interest in the project. She is expected to inform Dutt about her decision by next week.

Abhishek Bachchan avoids clash with Shah Rukh Khan's Don 2

Despite the moderate success of Dum Maaro Dum, Abhishek Bachchan is not so confident about facing Shah Rukh Khan.

Viacom 18 wanted to release their ambitious Abhishek starrer Players against SRK's humungous Don 2 during the Christmas weekend, but apparently, the actor requested them to postpone the release of the film. It seems he doesn't want to pitch the film into any hurdle like that.

Players, an official remake of Italian Job, is Abbas Mustan's first film after Race. It is also a very important film for Abhishek, considering his drooping career. "While Players is one of the most expensive movies he has been a part of, he is hoping for a big turn in his career. Needless to say, he wants the film to have the best of chances," says the source.

So in all probability, Players will release early next year. "The month of December is pretty packed with big films, both from Hollywood and Bollywood. Agent Vinod is aiming for an early December release and then there are films like Mission Impossible 4 and Sherlock Holmes, prequels of which have done extremely well in India. And all these are action thrillers too," adds the source.

However, Viacom 18 officials preferred not to respond to our queries.

Players has been directed by Abbas Mustan and also stars Neil Nitin Mukesh, Sikandar Kher, Aftab Shivdasani, Sonam Kapoor and Bipasha Basu.

Sepianotes Shashi Kapoor, Neetu Singh at an event

The film that released in 1981, Ek Aur Ek Gyarah was launched at Raj Kamal Studios on September 19, 1974.

And this picture of the lead actors Vinod Khanna, Shashi Kapoor and Neetu Singh along with director Ashok Roy, financer Gulshan Rai and guest V Shantaram was clicked at the very event by lensman Jagdish Aurangabadkar.

The only thing that really stands out in this picture is Shashi Kapoor's enthusiasm to play his character in the film. The actor, unlike his co-stars came fully dressed as the man his character Anand impersonates in the film. Wow!

His leading lady Neetu Singh (aka Rekha in the film), who also happens to be his nephew's wife in real life, Kapoor seems to be enjoying the event way more than the rest of the people in frame. Leaving, of course guest V Shantaram, who too is seen displaying his pearlies.

Vinod Khanna, the bandana-ed hero of the film is bereft of his leading lady Zarina Wahab. Probably the reason why we don't see him smiling here.

While many may remember the movie for it's interesting helicopter sequence, wherein a road roller is used to pull the airborne craft down, this picture encapsulates the day it all started.

Salman Khan in Hema Malini's next

Salman Khan is the actor who's been touted as having a magic wand. With a Midas touch the actor is giving one hit after another and thus it's no surprise that he's one of the most sought after actors these days.

Almost all the film makers want a piece of teh pie and want Salman to be part of their project. Yesteryear actor Hema Malini is no different who approached Khan to be part of her ambitious project Tell Me Oh Khuda. And the best part is that Salman has consented to act in the dream girl's film.

Hem, who is a recent entratnt on twitter, tweeted about this and wrote, "Salman Khan has been very gracious to be a part of my film "Tell Me O Khuda".

What an adorable person!!!!" So we can look forward to another of Salman Khans blockbuster courtesy Hema Malini...

Anushka Sharma shares her secret

Simi Garewal is an extremely gracious host who makes actors feel totally comfortable. She anchored the talk show Rendezvous with Simi Garewal, which ruled TV chat shows for ten years.

She made a comeback this year with 'Simi Selects India's Most Desirable" on Star World which is being avidly watched and talked about! What has caught every one by surprise is its novelty factor. Everyone is discussing how diametrically different it is from Rendezvous with Simi Garewal and it boasts of single eligible desirable guests like Ranbir Kapoor, Deepika Padukone, Abhay Deol and Siddarth Mallaya.

This week's guest is Anushka Sharma who debuted in Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi opposite Shahrukh Khan. She mentioned that she was reading the book called "The Secret" when she auditioned for the film.

Anushka says, "What happened is I used to listen to this thing when the movie starts there is this logo of Yashraj comes so I used to keep watching it again and again. It was like aaaa (sings) so when the film started and that logo played first and I was like wow...

it actually happened. Shahrukh Shan introducing Anushka. She adds, "There was this one time when I was in Bombay and when this film happened and when I was driving back from Yashraj studios, I got the news Adi told me. I couldn't drive any more because I was crying so I stopped the car and pulled over and I called my mother and you know I told her that

I got this film and you know what my mother told me. That there was this turtle that used to be there in my room I think its some Feng Shui thing you open the turtle and you put a wish in the turtle.

And when it comes true you take it out. So she never told me about this. But when she came down after I got the film she opened that and she showed it to me and she had written it there that I hope that my daughter stars in a Yashraj film. I swear. It's unbelievable, I think somewhere she always wanted me to be an actress".

Well all those girls who want to make it big in career can follow "The Secret".

I am not engaged Abhay Deol

It started out as one of the many speculated link-ups in Bollywood, but after his professional high post Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara, Abhay Deol has decided it's time to speak up about his clandestine romance with Ms Britain, Preeti Desai.

The couple's relationship has frequently been examined by the media. And so, the actor spoke to Mumbai Mirror to dispel all the speculations and set the record straight once and for all. "There have been speculations which questioned if I was dating her or if I was not, if we are engaged or not. But, I am not engaged," revealed Abhay.

As rumours of their relationship spread like wildfire, so did the ones about their break up. When asked if being on the media radar all the time has affected his relationship, Abhay said, "Speculations lead to a lot of stories in the media, which are entirely untrue. I am very happy where I am and I am not denying that I am in a relationship and that's as much as I can share. I find it normal for people to ask all these questions.

The media has been very good in reporting about our relationship by stating that I want to keep it personal and that's how I prefer it, as it's my personal life after all. If I start sharing my personal life, then it won't be personal at all. Since I am in the public space, it is granted that the media would be involved. However, everybody around me knows about our relationship and so, it would be silly of me to deny the fact that I am dating her."

Interestingly, just when Abhay has attracted a major female fan following, after his role in ZNMD, he has knocked himself off the eligible bachelor list. And so, when asked if the confirmed news of his relationship will turn the ladies off, Abhay candidly replied, "I had female fan following after Dev.D too but that was when I played a bad guy. With ZNMD, I portrayed the good boy. It's like a full circle. When you ask if I will break hearts, I do not think so as people will still have their fantasies. In fact this adds to it.

Hrithik is married with kids but that has not taken away any of his female fan following. There is a certain attraction towards married men with kids. If the attraction is there, then it will remain and if it is not there, it will never be there."

While the actor has admitted to his relationship, he is reluctant to give it a label. "We haven't made too many public appearances, just two. One was at Ekta Kapoor's party and another was at a magazine party. We have already been seeing each other for a while. However, we are not people who like to define the relationship or put it in a box. But the world does. So, okay let's call it a relationship. She is happy, I am happy so why not?"

Plans for Jackson tribute show ignite family row

LOS ANGELES: Michael Jackson's mother and four siblings announced Monday plans for a star-studded tribute concert for the late pop icon, but the show was blasted as "ill-timed" by two other Jacksons.

Jermaine and Randy Jackson said the family should be concentrating on the upcoming manslaughter trial of their brother's doctor, which will be going on in Los Angeles when the planned show is staged in Britain in October.

The Michael Forever show is set for October 8 in Cardiff, Wales, and will be broadcast to 30 countries around the world, said his mother Katherine Jackson, sister La Toya and brothers Tito, Marlon and Jackie.

"The world's greatest performing artists" will play at the show, according to its website, although promoter Chris Hunt declined to name names, saying they will announce artists at another press conference in London on August 3.

Jackson's mother said "as many members of my family that are available" will be at the concert, adding: "Michael gave his entire life to the world through his love, his music and his devotion to healing the planet.

"I am positive that this event will be an event great enough in scale, talent and imagination to form a worthy celebration of Michael's life," she said at a press conference in Beverly Hills.

But Randy and Jermaine Jackson -- who tried but failed to organize a tribute show after Jackson's 2009 death -- blasted the timing of the new show, which will coincide with the September manslaughter trial of Jackson's doctor.

"While we wholeheartedly support the spirit of a tribute that honors our brother, we find it impossible to support an event that is due to take place during the criminal trial surrounding Michael's death," they said.

Doctor Conrad Murray, charged with manslaughter for giving the singer an overdose of powerful sedative propofol, is due to go on trial with opening statements on September 20, less than three weeks before the Cardiff concert.

"In light of this, we feel it is inappropriate to be involved with such an ill-timed event and its promoter, Global Live," said Jermaine and Randy Jackson in a statement.

"Furthermore, the decision to proceed with this concert disrespects opinions and wishes expressed in the strongest terms to Global Live during conversations in April when this event was presented to the majority of the family."

Global Live chief Chris Hunt defended the Cardiff plans, saying they would be "worthy of Michael's musical genius ... something fun and authentic that you would envision Michael attending with excitement and joy."

Tickets for the concert in the 75,000-seat Millennium Stadium in Cardiff -- with a fully retracting roof the biggest indoor venue in Europe, according to the organizers -- will go on sale online on August 4, they added.

The concert will raise money for charities including Prince Charles' Prince's Trust in Britain, and the AIDS Project Los Angeles (APLA). (AFP)

Imran Khan's stylish tribute to three Khans

MUMBAI: Imran Khan matched steps of three illustrious Khans — Aamir, Shah Rukh and Salman — in his next release, Mere Brother Ki Dulhan. The title track of the film will see him imitating the signature moves of the trio in the song, Mere Brother Ki Dulhan…

Matrimonial Ki Aankhen… composed by Sohail Sen and shot over three days.

Imran, who features in the Yash Raj Films project opposite Katrina Kaif, shot for the peppy song in Mumbai, New Delhi and Dehradun.

It will begin with Aamir’s famous Aati Kya Khandala… from Ghulam (1998), with a bit of Rang De Basanti (RDB, 2006) thrown in.

Next, Salman is idolised in his classic ‘belt hook’ avatar from Dabangg (2010) and later SRK on a train in Dil Se (1998).

But the actor admits it wasn’t a smooth ride. The train would slow down or speed up suddenly, and bounce along the tracks.

Mere Brother Ki Dulhan, another Yash Raj production also features Pakistani actor-musician Ali Zafar, and is slated to release on September 9.

The film marks the directorial debut of Ali Abbas Zafar.

Salman, Katrina team up for 'Bodyguard' item song

Rakesh waits five years for his son Hrithik

Rakesh Roshan forced to wait for five years for his superstar son

Rakesh Roshan now 61 has been one of the most prolific and successful filmmakers in contemporary Bollywood. His list of hits include some huge successes like Karan Arjun, Koi Mil Gaya, Krrish, Khoon Bhari Maang and

Khudkarz. However since his son Hrithik made a splash as an actor in 2000 with Kaho Na pyaar hai...Rakesh has decided to direct only his son. After making super-duper hits with his son in KNPH, Koi Mil Gaya and Krrish(2006), Rakesh let Duggu(Hrithik) have his way

and allowed Anurag Basu to direct Kites(2010) for their home banner. Kites came unstuck and though Rakesh had indulged his son, he realised that he would soon have to pick up the pieces

of their home banner Filmkraft and make another film with Hrithik,'' say sources. Krrish-3 will start in 2011 end or early 2012 at Ramoji Film City Hyderabad. However Rakesh one of the biggest filmmakers of our time has lost five years waiting for his son! It is indeed a big sacrifice for a filmmaker. In a sense the filmmaker lost out to the father.

Salman Khan is boss No.1

There's a fierce sense of loyalty that emanates from every word that he says. It is no wonder then that Shera, Salman Khan most trusted aide, launched the first look of the latter's film Bodyguard with much fanfare recently.

While Shera admitted that he was touched by this gesture, he also confessed, "This was a total surprise. I was going about my work at the promotional activity as usual and suddenly I am told by Salman Khan that I have to launch the promo. I was like 'Main?' and boss said 'Haan tum!' But, what he did after that which was to tell people about how much my work and I mean to him - was what touched me immensely."

With the star saying that he'll be finished if Shera decides to write a book, ask Shera if he's ever been tempted to bare it all and he says, "I've never been tempted ever! Honestly. I have always believed in doing my job and my boss Salman Khan is No.1. I can never let him down!"

With the duo redefining the star-bodyguard relationship, isn't he worried that their ties will ever be strained? He smiles and says, "I've been with Salman Khan for almost 15 years now and I don't interfere in his work and he lets me do my job. It's worked thus far and will continue to do so in the future, I am sure."

Shahid Kapoor's action film stuck

Sajid Nadiadwala, who is currently busy shooting for his comic caper with Sajid Khan Housefull 2, is already hunting for an action script for his next with Shahid Kapoor.

And though the filmmaker has still not found a script suitable enough to turn Shahid into an international action sensation, he has already roped in world's top stunt director Philippe Guegan for the project, reportedly for a whopping sum of money.

Guegan who has designed the stunts for Jackie Chan in Rush Hour and Harrison Ford in the Indiana Jones series, was all set to do world-class action for Shahid in director Sabir Khan's Heer Aur Ranjha. However, the script for Sabir's Heer Aur Ranjha failed to take off. Sajid ordered Sabir to go back to the story- board and design another action film with Shahid.

A source revealed, "Sajid Nadiadwala has hired the services of Guegan for Salman Khan in Kick and Shahid Kapoor in Heer Aur Ranjha . Unfortunately both the projects are not taking off on time. Kick is delayed and Heer Aur Ranjha is not happening. Sajid has asked Sabir to write another action film for Shahid fast."

Apart from having hired Guegan, there's one more reason for Sajid's hurry. Shahid who is very keen on doing an action flick next already has Kaminey 2 in the pipeline. And Nadiadwala doesn't want to lose out to Vishal Bhardway. When contacted, Nadiadwala said, "Yes, we have hired Philippe Guegan to do Shahid's action sequences. But sadly Sabir Khan's first script didn't work out. He has gone back to do another one. Hopefully this time he will come up with a rocking action story for Shahid."

Or else Guegan goes back to Paris with a fat cheque and no work to show for it.

Meanwhile...
Before Shahid Kapoor is seen in his first ever action-packed film, the actor will be showing off his moves, at a live concert in Hyde Park, London for the music release of his father Pankaj Kapoor's debut film, Mausam. Beyond just promoting the film, co-producers, Eros International and Sheetal Talwar along with the director, envisioned that the live concert also commemorate and promote Indian cinema in Europe. And so, the filmmakers, who are currently in London, are reportedly eager to hold the event on either the eve or on India's Independence Day, August 15.

A source has informed that the concert, which will feature the music composed by Pritam Chakraborty, will be open to all. When contacted, producer Sheetal Talwar told Mumbai Mirror, "Mausam is a very well made film. Pankaj has invested a lot of time and effort on the film and he was eager to do something spectacular to launch its music."

Success has gone to Salman Khan's head!

Industry insiders get talking about the actor's recent spate of fights

Salman Khan has always been known for his bratty ways. But his recent power trip is unmatched. The success of his back-to-back projects, Dabangg and Ready, seem to have given him an added sense of invincibility.

And the proof of the power is in his conduct over the recent past. Prior to his blockbuster success Wanted, Salman's career faced a five-year long slump. Fortunately for Salman, he was given a second chance in the industry.

In recent years, Salman has made it evident that he does not like associating with a lot of people within the industry. It started with a fight with good friend Shah Rukh Khan in 2008. He even had differences with Shahid Kapoor, Vivek Oberoi and John Abraham in their initial days. In fact, the recent trend has been that whoever gets close to SRK, automatically gets into Salman's hate list. Example, Priyanka Chopra.

Post Dabangg, he fought with Abhinav Kashyap, the director of the very film that made him big again. The actor started off the year with a fight with yet another director Anees Bazmee. He even asked for an extra Rs 5 crore from friend Sajid Nadiadwala to star in Kick. Continuing his recent fascination with filmmakers, Salman fought with Bunty Walia last week at good friend Sanjay Dutt's house.

Revealing what happened at the party at Sanjay's house, a source said, "At Manyaata Dutt's birthday party, he was bitching about some of the heroines he is known to be rather close to. He has gone back to his bratty ways. Mind you, this is dangerous."

Is Sallu back to his bratty ways - the very same that led to his downfall years back? We ask industry insiders.

"His lazy, unprofessional attitude on the sets of Bodyguard is the only reason why the film could not get completed on time. As a result of which, YRF's Ek Tha Tiger has now been delayed at least by ten days," says a source from the industry.

A leading source from the trade told Mumbai Mirror, "Yes, Salman ke dimag mein hawa bhar gaya hai. And it was bound to happen. Didn't it happen with Shah Rukh Khan when he was at the top? Why else would Shah Rukh have fought with Salman? What you need to understand is that Salman was not so big two years ago and Shah Rukh was the king.

Didn't Shah Rukh even start picking on his friends and in the process, lost quite a few of them? When you achieve too much success, maturity tends to fade away. You stop treating others as human beings. Salman has never tasted such success before, so he is bound to get carried away. "

Mahesh Bhatt however, thinks differently. "I don't endorse this story. Because just an hour ago, before you called, I know of a few kids who visited Salman on his sets and he took pictures with them and danced with them.

I am very sorry to demolish your stand on Salman. Only Bunty, Sanju and Salman know what happened at the party between them. To be judgemental without knowing what actually transpired, is unfair to Salman."

But a senior distributor chose to disagree with Bhatt. "I completely abide by the story. We have known Salman to do irresponsible things outside people's homes. This time he behaved very badly inside Sanju's residence. Yeh bilkul galat hai. Definitely usko kamyaabi ki hawaa lag gayi hai."

Salman's bad habits in fact, aren't restricted to late rising and fighting at parties. A source from a leading production house informed, "After 1.30 am, Salman starts drinking very heavily. All these mistakes that he has committed recently, fighting with Anees, Sanju etc have happened post one in the morning."

A director who worked with him recently attributed Salman's recent attitude to circumstances and said, "About his mood swings, in the recent past, I think a few things have happened in his life, that have forced him to react this way. Moreover, you shouldn't forget that he is a very moody person right from childhood. He has these phases in his life when he starts behaving erratic. Perhaps, this is one such phase."

Salman Khan plans Chillar Party sequels

With UTV more focused on other projects, Salman Khan has decided to go ahead and produce the sequels of the film

Salman Khan seems to have taken his role as a producer pretty seriously, as he is ready with not one but two sequels to Chillar Party. With his maiden production venture receiving rave reviews from the critics, there is no stopping Sallu now from jumping into the bandwagon of sequels, even though co-producer UTV looks skeptical.

Salman, who co-produced Chillar Party with UTV, is allegedly miffed with the latter. This follows after UTV sidetracked Chillar Party and moved on to commercially successful films like Delhi Belly.

Vikas Bahl, co-director of the film, confirmed, "We actually shot the film two years ago. And when Salman came into the picture the kids were again back into action.

They bonded so well with Salman, that it would be heartbreaking for them if he had moved on."

On Salman coming on-board for the two sequels, he adds, "Yes we've written two more screenplays for the Chillar Party series.

In one, all the kids get together to take the slum-kid Fatka ( Irfan Khan)) and all his slum-mates to school. In the third film the kids are the think-tank for the Indian Olympic squad hired by the government."

Vikas Bahl and writer-director Nitesh Tiwari are also in the process of writing the fourth story to the Chillar Party series. Salman has apparently made it clear that he'd like to be on board for the entire series.

Drunk Ashmit Patel beats up Imran Khan's friend

Drunken brawls are skyrocketing among today's youth. And bucking the national average are our Bollywood celebrities.

The latest addition on the ever-increasing list is Amisha Patel's younger brother, Ashmit. On the wee hours of Saturday, 2.15 am to be precise, Ashmit Patel beat up an unsuspecting fellow guest, Vicky at a Lower Parel nightspot. Vicky, who was caught unaware by Patel happens to be Imran Khan's close friend and makeup man.

Vicky was immediately rushed to at least four hospitals before he finally got medical assistance in a hospital in Borivali. A diagnosis revealed a fractured nose, apart from other superficial cuts and bruises.

Ashmit Patel who has little to his name apart from a few box office duds, a colourful reality TV stint with Pakistani actress Veena Malik picked up a fight with Vicky at the club. Vicky had come to the club along with his girlfriend Pooja, who is assisting Kabir Khan in YRF's forthcoming Salman Khan - Katrina Kaif starrer.

The fight began when Vicky went to the bar to fetch a drink. Patel tried to instigate Vicky and his friend Amin. When they refused to get provoked, Patel pushed Vicky . "Vicky does not know Ashmit, neither professionally nor at a personal level," said a source.

When Vicky turned back and questioned Patel's actions, instead of apologising, the actor started bashing him up. Soon, 12-15 of Patel's friends joined the fight. On finding out that her boyfriend was being brutally beaten up Pooja raised the alarm.

The bouncers got into action by then. "But it was too late. Pooja was horrified seeing Vicky bleeding the way he was," an eyewitness told Mumbai Mirror. Patel and his gang even threatened Vicky with dire consequences. Scared and also scarred by the events that night, Vicky and Pooja chose not to file a police complaint.

Added the witness, "Ashmit was in a very aggressive mood. He was trying to bully people in the nightclub. He just wanted violence."

A source very close to Vicky says, "Vicky lost at least three-four litre of blood. His journey from Parel to Borivali made him extremely groggy. Pooja stayed with Vicky, until he was finally operated in a hospital in Borivali."

When contacted, both Vicky, who is now recovering and Pooja confirmed the story. Kabir Khan, the director of Ek Tha Tiger the YRF project Pooja is working on, said, "I saw Pooja traumatised on Saturday. She told me about her boyfriend being beaten up. Such acts of violence are unpardonable and should be condemned in any civilized society."

Imran Khan's official spokesperson, on being informed about the incident, said, "What happened is extremely unfortunate. Imran is not in town. And he doesn't know about this. But if he were here, he would have been very upset. Vicky is very close to him. Imran and Vicky have been working together since Jaane Tu... Ya Jaane Na. They are also extremely close friends."

Ashmit chose not to reply to repeated calls. His manager Pratik when contacted, said even he couldn't reach the actor.

Ashmit's appalling acts

Anupam Kher filed a complaint against Ashmit after his son Sikandar was beaten by Sohail Khan and Ashmit at a Bandra nightspot. According to sources, the incident sparked off when Sikandar commented on Salman Khan, which irked Sohail.

Ashmit Patel is perhaps best known for the scandalous MMS of him and actress Riya Sen. It showed the two actors in the throes of passion. Ashmit, the man in the video was evidently the one who shot it. While both the actors denied the clip, some reports blamed Ashmit for circulating the video online.

Can't help if Kareena Kapoor feels insecure Deepika Padukone

Deepika Padukone gets candid about working with Saif, his lover and her own love life...

Would you attribute your success to luck, good looks or being at the right place at the right time?

It's a little bit of everything. I have to admit I was offered all kinds of films before Om Shanti Om but I don't think I was ready then. I had just started modelling. Liril and Close-Up released around the same time, and I started getting offers as soon as that came on air. I think OSO came to me at the right time; I couldn't have asked for more. It was a perfect launch pad.

Aarakshan looks like quite a male-dominated film. Won't you get lost in a film like that?

No, firstly I strongly believe in the film itself. I believe it's a socially relevant topic today. It is a subject that needs to be addressed. What the solution is, I don't know. If you watch the film, you'll realise that I'm torn between my boyfriend and my father, because of this whole reservation system in our country. It is a socio-political issue.

This is the third film you're doing with Saif? What's he like to work with?

He's great to work with. He was fantastic in Aarakshan and Cocktail. I can't think of anyone else who could have done these roles. I am definitely more comfortable working with him now. When you repeat a co-star, there is a comfort level.

Buzz is that his girlfriend Kareena Kapoor doesn't get along with any of his leading ladies. Comment.

Well that's her insecurity I can't do anything about that. But we've had no problems. In fact, when she came to London, we got along well. We went out one night. She was on set and watching the shoot even in Hyderabad. As far as I know, there is nothing wrong. I don't think she has anything to worry about.

Can two actresses be friends?

Of course. I don't know how close you can be, because there is definitely competition amongst all of us. Actually, Shahana (Goswami) is a very close friend. I am surprised that I made such a close friend at this point in my career because after a certain point in your life, you don't know who wants to be your friend for who you are and who genuinely cares for you. How much you can trust them?

Neil Nitin Mukesh recently said on camera that if you were single, he would be the first to be waiting outside your door with a rose. Comment?

I don't know what is stopping him.

So are you going on record to say you're single?

I'm just saying I don't know what's stopping him. He's most welcome to come to my doorstep. He's thinking too much.

You talked a lot about Ranbir on Karan's show...

You know, the sad part is that he and I have moved on. People worry more about us than we worry about ourselves. We're such good friends now; we're at an amazing stage today where, relationship or no relationship, we actually speak almost everyday. We've put all of that behind us. But people still want to go back to what he said/she said one or two years ago. Grow up.

What if Ranbir said he wants you back?

If and when that happens we'll think about it then.

Grapevine says that Ranbir and Siddhartha Mallya have become friends?

You should ask them. I am close to both of them but I'm not going to ask who they are friends with. But we're not hanging out together. That's not happening yet.

You recently bought a new house. Why the move and how does it feel?

It's very centrally located. It's my dream home. I've not had anything easy since the time I started. I didn't want to depend on my parents.

Buzz is that Siddhartha has bought you the flat?

He doesn't even have a house of his own. He lives with his dad. So forget about buying me one.

Salman Khan, Zarine Khan hand-in hand

While everyone's been speculating about which lucky lady will catch bachelor-at-large Salman Khan's attention next, here's some dope to chew on.

Salman attended Sanjay Dutt's surprise birthday party for wife Manaayata on Thursday night with his Character dheela item girl Zarine Khan.

Says an eye-witness, "Salman entered the party with Zarine, hand-in-hand no less, and they even left together at around 4.40 am. It is obvious Zarine is quite smitten by Salman, as she stuck to his side throughout the evening."

Ever since his split from Katrina Kaif, Salman had been linked to a series of actresses including Asin, his Dabangg co-star Sonakshi Sinha and even Kangna Ranaut, but none seem to have caught his attention as much as Zarine.

Sanju chooses Sallu over SRK

It appears that the friendship between Salman Khan, Ajay Devgn and Sanjay Dutt is growing stronger. Dutt invited Devgn and Khan to his surprise party for Manaayata but chose to forego an invitation to Shah Rukh Khan, who very generously gifted him an Italian bike recently.

An insider says, "Sanju is very fond of SRK, but he was uncomfortable inviting him to the party because of Salman. Sanju didn't know how SRK and Salman would react if they came face-to-face at sister Namrata's home — where the party was held — so he chose not to invite SRK. In any case, Sanju is a very loyal friend and is very close to Salman. In fact, both Salman and Ajay have been giving him advice on working out and developing a good physique once again."

Salman Khan's Bodyguard to unveil first look of his film

For 15 years, he has willingly risked his own life and vowed to take a bullet for Salman Khan. And now, the actor is paying him back his dues. Deciding to take a back seat himself, Salman has asked his real life bodyguard Shera to unveil the first look of his film Bodyguard at a Juhu multiplex, this evening.

It all started with Salman suddenly approaching Atul Agnihotri (producer of Bodyguard), with his new concept. Though Agnihotri was sceptical at first, he reluctantly agreed to Salman's terms. Shera was caught off guard by the overwhelming offer from the star.

It took quite a while for Shera to get a grasp of the situation. When he got hold of his nerves, he told Salman that it is indeed an honour for him, and he shall fulfill Salman's wish.

Though it comes as a surprise to Shera, this surely isn't the first time that Salman has decided to take care of his bodyguard. Previously, Salman Khan turned down a whopping Rs 7 crore offer to wear a certain security company's uniform in Bodyguard. Instead he opted for his own personal bodyguard's brand.

When contacted, Shera told Mumbai Mirror, "I couldn't believe it at first. It felt surreal. I had to pinch myself to make sure that this indeed was real. Salmanbhai's wish is my command.

Salmanbhai has always taken care of me and this gesture just proves that how great a human being he is. He is family to me. I owe everything to him."

Kareena Kapoor back in Heroine, but conditions apply

Aishwarya Rai Bachchan's 'good news' had poured cold water on Madhur Bhandarkar and UTV's dreams of making Heroine. However, like every dark cloud, this too has a silver lining. Kareena Kapoor has finally agreed to step into the shoes left empty by Mrs Jr Bachchan.

On Monday, UTV's CEO Siddharth Roy Kapur and the writer of Heroine Niranjan Iyengar flew down to Hyderabad to meet Kareena who had been spending some time with her boyfriend Saif Ali Khan, who in turn has been shooting for Cocktail with Deepika Padukone at the Ramoji Rao Film City there.

The meeting between the producer, the writer and the actress proved to be quite fruitful. So much so that the actress has now agreed to be a part of the project, with a few conditions of her own.

"Kareena has consented to the snorting, drinking and smoking scenes. Earlier, she had strong reservations against them. Now, she just doesn't want to do the explicit lovemaking scenes with Arjun Rampal and Sudhir Mishra's discovery Arunoday Singh. Those scenes are extremely sexy and Kareena is just not comfortable doing them," informed a source.

And while UTV doesn't want to let go of this opportunity to revive their dream project with Kareena Kapoor, convincing the director Madhur to make changes in his script yet again, proves to be a challenge.

While Madhur Bhandarkar remained unavailable for comments, a source close to the film informed Mumbai Mirror, "Iyengar is very close to Kareena. He knew that this time he would be able to convince her. Both Kapur and Iyengar were very happy after the meeting. They were beaming. Madhur too was happy to learn that Kareena has agreed to do the film."

Kareena, interestingly, happened to be Madhur's choice for the film previously. However, the actress had refused to do it since she felt that the content of the film was too heavy and bold for her. "What can be better than getting your first choice back in the project?" quipped the source when asked about the same.

Having found his silver lining in Hyderabad, UTV's head honcho Siddharth Roy Kapur stayed on in the city to multiply his happiness. This time with a different leading lady who also happens to be the lady leading his heart.

He extended his visit to be with his ladylove Vidya Balan who is shooting for Ekta Kapoor's Dirty Picture with co-star Emraan Hashmi and director Milan Luthria at the Ramoji Rao Film City in Hyderabad. So after a successful meeting, Kapur dropped by to meet Vidya on the sets of the film based on the life of Silk Smitha.

Aishwarya Rai Bachchan had left the project after a week's shoot following her father in law's tweet about her pregnancy on June 21. According to industry insiders, it isn't commercially viable for the makers of the film to wait for more than a year for Ash to come back to the project.

Kapur and Bhandarkar remained unavailable for comment. Ditto for Kareena.

Katrina Kaif apologizes to Congress

Katrina Kaif is once again in the eye of a storm, this time for comparing her half-Indian lineage to that of Congress scion Rahul Gandhi.

Naturally, our knee-jerk reacting politicos have left no stone unturned in bullying the star into making an official apology for deigning to compare herself to the Congress's baba. Here's the lowdown on what prompted the entire episode.

What Katrina Said

In an interview two days ago, replying to a question on her being half-Indian, the actress reacted saying, "People are insinuating that there is something wrong in it! Please understand that I am not — I assure you, I promise you — I am not the only half Asian, half British person alive on this planet! My passport copies are with every news channel in this country — don't ask me how they got them. Everyone has my name, which is my mother's name, on the passport. It's never been hidden, that, or my date of birth, or where I was born — I was born in Hong Kong, for all those who've missed that part of the breaking news — and I just find it so funny. Am I supposed to be ashamed that I am half Asian, half European? I mean, no! Rahul Gandhi is half Indian, half Italian. So? I am very proud of what I am and I just don't understand the confusion — as if I'm trying to hide the fact that my mother's British. Why would I?"

What The Party Said
The Congress has reacted sharply to Katrina's remarks describing Rahul Gandhi's obvious lineage. "Who is she? I do not know. Tomorrow, you will ask for our reaction on the statement of Johny Lever. To what level you want to bring down the level of the political discourse in the country?" party spokesperson Manish Tewari said to a media outlet.

What Happened Next
Kat got calls from Delhi once the interview appeared, and was told not to talk about Rahul Gandhi, least of all compare himself to her. She soon apologised saying, "I think the statement has been taken out of context, but if I have hurt anyone's sentiments, I'm extremely sorry. I request the media not to make any controversy out of that, because it's not the way the statement was made at all."

The Background

Katrina hasn't exactly been in the party's good books after Raajneeti, in which her character had similarities to that of Congress President Sonia Gandhi. Not only did she dress like Sonia, there were also reports how she watched tapes of the Congress President to get her walk and mannerisms down pat. Her role in the film was controversial, and this didn't win her any brownie points with the party.

Rani Mukerji goes gaga over Hrithik Roshan

Rani Mukerji who has worked with Hrithik Roshan half a decade ago, seems to have re-discovered him after she saw his latest release.

Says a source, "She recently watched the film and after that she has been gushing about his performance and his dancing to everyone else. Apart from messaging the actor, Rani called up all her friends including Karan Johar and gushed about how talented he was.

" High praise indeed from someone who herself is considered a super performer. Does this mean, we will see Rani and Duggu in a film together soon? well Adi and Karan can make it happen, no?

Anushka Sharma, Ranvir Singh breakup

It seems all is not well between the Band Baaja Baraat leads Anuskha Sharma and Ranvir Singh.

Recently at the IIFA Awards 2011 the two were seen showing cold shoulders to each other. This is mainly because success and jealously has come in the middle of the "love birds".

Ranvir who did an act with Sonakshi Sinha at the function was definitely not taken well by the ayivayi ayivayi girl. In fact, Anuskha even fired Ranvir for being so sweet to the Dabang lead. Their fight was an open affair for the guests at the IIFA. Once the fight was out of their rooms the two refused to talk to each other and forget about exchanging any pleasantries.

More over it seems that Anuskha's signing movies with big stars of the B-industry like Shahrukh, Ajay and big banners have given her another reason to move away from the relationship.

Seems like it's that time of the year again for splits and break-ups, guess who's gonna break the news first!

Ali Zafar attends Atif Aslam' s 'Bol' premiere in Lahore

Pakistan singer turned actor Ali Zafar made a special appearance at Atif Aslam's 'Bol' movie premiere in Lahore recently. Ali Zafar took out some time from his busy shooting schedule in India and visited Lahore to specially attend his close friend Atif Aslam's Bol movie screening.

Atif Aslam who is Lahore based decided to host a special screening of the movie for his close friends. Ask Ali Zafar about his experinece of being present at the Bol movie screening and he says, "I received an invitation from my dear friend Atif to attend the screening of his movie' Bol'.

I Have known Atif for very long and just couldnt refuse his invitation. In fact I made an impromptu announcement and gave a brief introduction of the movie before the screening happened. I loved the script and screenplay of the movie. I think Atif really did a very job in the movie. The concept of the movie was very different as it spoke more about the various issues in our society, religious taboo and so on which have spoken about boldly."

Back home in Mumbia, Ali enjoyed watching the screening of Delhi Belly. He adds, "Its a fabulous movie and one shouldn't miss watching it." Ask about his next Bollywood project and he shares, " I have just signed another movie, the shoot should begin soon. Can't reveal any details now,

but the project is mega budget movie." His third music album Jhoom which has been well received by both the Pakistan and Indian audience too. That's not all, he is soon to release the video of ''Jee Dhoondta Hai" a song featuring Mirza Ghalib's poetry from his latest hit album Jhoom.

Amitabh Bachchan, Sridevi share their lunch

They both won accolades for their last film together. And now, 18 years later, the actors, Sridevi and Amitabh Bachchan, who were seen on screen in the 1993 superhit Khuda Gawah, will share screen space in Balki's wife Gauri Shinde's debut venture English Vinglish.

In fact, on Monday, the two actors spent some time together on the sets after almost two decades and even shared their meal.

Balki, the director of Big B starrer Cheeni Kum and Paa, informed Mumbai Mirror, "It's actually a two-day cameo for Mr Bachchan, and not an after-thought. Gauri had written the cameo with Mr Bachchan in mind. We were to shoot last week. But then the blasts happened. So now we have shot on Monday and will have to find another day for this dream team to come together."

Amitabh Bachchan and Sridevi had worked in films like Inquilaab and Akhree Rasta before they paired up for Khuda Gawah, which at the time was rumoured to be Bachchan's last venture. While, the film did extremely well, fetching Filmfare nominations for both the lead actors, Big B surely did not move away from the silver screen after that.

While the Big B continued his stint in Bollywood, Sridevi moved on to marriage and motherhood. And now, when the lady is ready to make her comeback to the silver screen, the Big B is more than happy to be a part of it.

Apparently Mr Bachchan said yes to the cameo without hesitation. It is the role of a fellow-passenger that Sridevi meets on a flight. "It's actually a very funny mid-air cameo. And only Mr Bachchan could do it. My wife and I are grateful he agreed," said Balki.

While the Big B was happy to be a part of Sridevi's comeback venture, his Khuda Gawah lady did her part to keep the actor happy on the sets of the film. She got home-cooked food for the entire cast and crew.

Dancing all the way

Sridevi plays the role of a housewife in the film, who in order to please her husband and family, enrolls for an English speaking course. Speech however, is not proving to be the only challenging part of the film. The actress had to shoot for a rather difficult dance step at the YRF Studios, which made even Sri, a trained dancer herself nervous. And that was exactly when she called up choreographer Ganesh Hegde to help through the scene.

A source revealed, "It was not a song. It was a scene where Sridevi had to demonstrate a few dance steps to her kids. Being a perfectionist, she wanted the steps to be just right. That's when she thought about calling Ganesh since she knew him well. Thankfully, Ganesh was also around and he immediately came to YRF and helped Sridevi finish the scene."

When contacted Ganesh Hegde confirmed the news and said, "Yes, Srideviji called me and she wanted some break dance steps. She had to do Michael Jackson's famous moonwalk. I have known Srideviji and Boneyji for a long time now. I am glad she called me when she needed help."

Speaking about the dance steps, Hegde added, "Srideviji did some break dance in the song Na Jaane Kahaan Se Aayi Hai from Chaalbaaz. So she knew the stuff. I just helped her a little bit."

Salman Khan, Sanjay Dutt, Ajay Devgn gang up

Ladies have gone gaga over them and men have always wanted to be like them. And now, audiences will get the ultimate experience of watching an action-packed film starring all three of the industry's most macho men - Salman Khan, Ajay Devgn and Sanjay Dutt.

Apparently, the three actors, who are thick-as-thieves, have been meeting a lot lately. At one of their get-togethers, a couple of days ago, in Bandra, the idea to collaborate on a film dawned upon them.

A source explained, "Ajay and Sanjay are very close friends. In fact, Sanjay went out of his way to make himself available for Devgn's film All The Best. Ajay then returned the favour by giving bulk dates to Dutt for his first production Rascals. Salman has always thought of Dutt as a hero and has always respected him.

Ajay and Salman have also shared a good rapport for a long time. Of late, they have been regularly in touch. Salman, via Twitter, has been posting appreciative comments on Ajay's physique in his upcoming release, Singham. Khan has even posted pictures of the film. Ajay Devgn has reciprocated by praising and recommending Salman's Chillar Party to friends and family.

Ajay is also keen to organise a trial show of Singham for Salman and his family. Earlier this year, both Ajay and Sanjay Dutt went ahead and did a cameo for Salman in his film Ready. Last week, after Ajay completed his photo shoot in Bandra, he called up Salman, who invited him over to the sets of Bodyguard." Perhaps to discuss the possibility of a film together.

When asked why they decided to make an action film, the source said, "Apparently someone told Ajay and Salman that since they are both known for their action skills, their collaboration in this genre would be apt. Since, both of them have worked with South action director S Vijayan in various films, including Salman's Bodyguard, they were discussing action stunts that they could attempt for the film."

The source also revealed that Ajay and Salman had decided to not only act in the film, but also produce it. When they approached Dutt with the idea to work together, he didn't waste anytime to get on-board. In a bid to truly bond, all the three actors have decided to produce the film.

Considering that Sanjay, Ajay and Salman are all currently working on action films, their decision to work together in this genre is based on more than just male bonding. Sanjay is currently shooting for director Anand Kumar's Zilla Ghaziabad, which documents the hardships faced by farmers, suicides and the underworld.

Dutt essays the real-life character Thakur Pritam Singh, a zamindar from Bulandshahr in Uttar Pradesh who becomes a cop. Ajay has just recently wrapped up work on Rohit Shetty's action flick, Singham, in which his character Inspector Bajirao Singham uses his own means to fight injustice and prejudice. Salman too is busy flexing his bronze for Atul Agnihotri's Bodyguard.

When contacted, the actors chose not to reply. However, Ajay Devgn's spokesperson, refrained from divulging any details and simply said, "No comments."

Murder 3 before Raaz

The unexpected positive response to Murder 2, have made producers speed up the process for Murder 3, with Raaz 3 taking a backseat.

Although Raaz 3 was to go on floors first, the Bhatts decided to shelf the project.

They have instead turned their focus to the Murder franchise and have asked director Mohit Suri to immediately start working on Murder 3.

Producer Mukesh Bhatt confirmed, "Yes we're already looking at Murder 3. We hope to release it by summer 2012."

The pre-production work for the film has already started. The producers have asked Murder 2 writer Shagufta Rafique to start working on the script.

Bollywood's gun-toting scoundrels

At the launch of Anil Sharma's 1991 film Farishtay on August 29, 1987 at the Cantaur in Juhu, lead actors Dharmendra, Vinod Khanna and Rajinikanth get into the cowboy spirit complete with guns and belts and rugged hats.

While Dharam and Vinod who play thieves in the film sport vests and cowboy hats, Rajini, who plays a cop, sticks to the inspector cap and the khaki uniform in this picture taken by lensman Jagdish Aurangabadkar.

While Dharmendra and Vinod Khanna, stick to smiling, Rajinikanth goes a step forward to get into the skin of his character in the film Police Inspector Arjun Ramojirao Shivajirao Gaikwad Jadish Mulk Tange. Yes, that is just one name. Of one person.

After all, it's for Rajinikanth. The megastar (as many would like to call the actor) who went on to become the heartthrob of millions across the globe and acquired a demigod status played a cop with a mile-long name in this film that released in the early nineties.

Rajini does the cop salute in his flamboyant style and dons the khaki garb. He even wears a pistol as a pendant around his neck. Mind It!

The papier-mâché rocks and Rajini's semi-closed eyes are priceless. And so is Vinod Khanna's suspenders-over-a-vest look.

A look that we perhaps will never ever get to see Khanna in. And as Rajini returns to India this week, having recovered from his ailment in Singapore, we bring this picture as a memory of the man who rules a million hearts even today.
