After the success of LOVE, SEX AUR DHOKHA Ekta Kapoor presents ONCE UPON A TIME IN MUMBAAI featuring Ajay Devgn, Emraan Hashmi, Kangna Ranaut and Prachi Desai. Directed by (TAXI NO. 9211 & DEEWAR: LETS BRING OUR HEROES HOME fame) Milan Luthria.

Seen through the eyes of a police officer, ONCE UPON A TIME IN MUMBAAI traces the changing face of the Mumbai underworld and how it all started.

The film, set primarily in 1970s Mumbai, follows the rise of Sultan (Ajay Devgn), and the conflict, when his protege Shoaib (Emraan Hashmi), challenges his supremacy, and usurps power to rule the murky underbelly of Mumbai.

The film is presented in a retro chic style and is a glamorous and powerful rewind to the golden era. A super-entertaining rewind to the era of romance, smuggling, cabaret and the mafia.

Balaji & Milan Luthria's ONCE UPON A TIME IN MUMBAAI is all set to release worldwide on 30th July 2010.

Emraan Hashmi could well be seen in an out and out black role if his character in ONCE UPON A TIME IN MUMBAAI has to be analyzed. Ever since the film went on floors, there have been murmurs in the industry circles that the film is based on the infamous battle of supremacy during the 70s between reigning underworld don Haji Mastan and new entrant Dawood Ibrahim.

"It's not fair on my part to be commenting upon whose real or imaginary life is ONCE UPON A TIME IN MUMBAAI (OUATIM) is based on", Emraan keeps a safe distance from the very USP of the film, "What I know is that this is a film about two head strong men who belong to underworld in Mumbai. Ajay plays Sultan who is larger than life. He has his own set of morals and principals even when it comes to crime. His belief is that one can bend the law to a certain point but after that a line has to be drawn. He indulges in smuggling but doesn't want any loss of lives. Also drugs and guns are totally unethical for him because they take lives."

CHECK OUT: Ajay and Emraan's an unusual combination in ONCE UPON A TIME IN MUMBAAI

"And then there is me, Shoaib, who is all of 25 years of ago, is wildly ambitious and quite crazy as well", Emraan continues while describing his character, "He is someone who wants to do something fast and knows that law is too tame to be feared about. He thinks that law should be instead tamed rather than the other way round. He respects the fact that true power is held with people like Ajay and hence looks up to him. He idolizes him, wants to become like him but then doesn't draw a line when it comes to crime. He is willing to do everything to make an empire. He respects Sultan but he feels that he can take a step further."

Now if the film is indeed about the face off between Haji Mastan and Dawood Ibrahim, it is anyone's imagination?

Kunal Kohli forbids Imran and Deepika from tweeting

Imran Khan, Deepika Padukone
Kunal Kohli has forbidden Imran Khan and Deepika Padukone, the stars of his under-production film Break Ke Baad, currently shooting in Mauritius, from going on any social networking site on the internet to talk about their film.
This is the second producer to have blocked his stars from tweeting about a film. Earlier Sajid Nadiadwala had to restrain Ranbir Kapoor and Priyanka Chopra from social networking about their film Anjaana Anjaani.
But Kunal Kohli says his case is different from Anjaana Anjaani.
Explains Kohli, “I’ve only asked Deepika and Imran to desist from tweeting for three weeks until Imran’s new film I Hate LUV Storys is released. I don’t want any overlapping in the public’s subconscious about the two films. Once Imran’s other film is out, he and Deepika are free to tweet to their heart’s content.”
Until then Kohli isn’t letting his two incorrigible twitters put any visuals or words on the internet. This has apparently not been taken well by Imran and Deepika. Imran was heard grumbling loudly about the curtailment of freedom of expression.
Says Kunal determinedly, “I really don’t approve of stars giving out information on micro-blogging sites, but I don’t think we should stop them. What I can do is to decide when is the right time to tweet.”

Milenge Milenge

Milenge MilengeMusic Director: Himesh Reshammiya
Lyricist: Sameer
Singers: Alka Yagnik, Jayesh Gandhi, Himesh Reshammiya, Rahat Fateh Ali Khan, Sonu Niigaam, Suzanne D'Mello and Shreya Ghoshal
Rating: **
Either it's because "Milenge Milenge" is releasing after a delay of five years or Himesh Reshammiya wanted to take inspiration from bygone decades - whatever it might be, the soundtrack of this Kareena Kapoor- Shahid Kapoor-starrer has old-fashioned songs, barring one or two.

The album offers five originals and five remixes.

It starts with Himesh singing "Kuch toh baaki hai". He has sung the slow-paced song in his signature style and the composition has a heard-before feeling. The track is neither bad nor brilliant. The song has two more versions - one a bright mix and the other a remixed version that is faster in pace.

Next in line is the title track "Milenge milenge", which shows some promise. Sung by Himesh and Shreya Ghoshal, it has haunting music and strong orchestration that generates interest. It is similar in style to Himesh's composition "Dur na jaana" from the film "Humraaz".

This song too has another version which is not very different from the original. The second version has been voiced by Alka Yagnik and Jayesh Gandhi.

Then there is "Tum chain ho", a slow romantic track sung by Alka, Sonu Niigaam and Suzanne D. Mello. The rendition starts with English lyrics and then moves on to Hindi. It does make an impact especially with Sonu's soulful voice.

"Tum chain ho" also has an unplugged version which is a great combination of right composition and impressive singing. With just the sound of a guitar in the background, the love song exudes a tranquilizing effect and is nice and hummable. Himesh goes right with this one.

Up next is "Ishq ki gali", a reminder of the bygone era. This track has Rahat Fateh Ali Khan and Jayesh Gandhi behind the mike and it is also quite old-fashioned in its approach, music and style.

It also has a remixed version which is ordinary.

Finally, we have Alka rendering "Hare kaanch ki chuddiyan". It doesn't suit today's scenario at all. The vocals, music and lyrics are not in sync with the current trend. Hence the song falls flat and doesn't strike a chord with the listener.

On the whole, the album offers just one-two hummable tracks.

Rihanna and Chris Brown Banned From the UK After Attac

Written by deendelu on 09 June 2010
rihanna-and-chris-brown-banned-from-the-uk-after-attackR&B star Chris Brown, best known now for assaulting fellow artist and girlfriend at the time Rihanna, has been denied a visa that he needs to enter Britain because of the criminal record he incurred as a result.
In February of 2009, Chris Brown pleaded guilty to felony assault related to a domestic violence incident involving his then-girlfriend Rihanna. He was sentenced to five years of probation and six months of community labor.
But alas, Chris Brown’s merits weren’t up to the UK standards after he attacked singer Rihanna.
“SORRY to all the fans in Europe!!! my tour is cancelled,” Chris Tweeted, which was later deleted. “Im pretty sure yall know. my entry was denied in your country. I love you. SORRY!!”
Chris was scheduled to perform in Glasgow, London and Manchester as well as the Irish city of Cork.
In an official statement, his publicist said: “Due to issues surrounding his work visa, the Ireland and United Kingdom leg of Chris Brown’s Fan Appreciation Tour has been postponed.
“Chris looks forward to performing for his fans abroad in the near future and thanks them for their continued support.”

According to Neha: “Action gives such an adrenalin rush. I feel women doing action is just so cool but nothing is happening in Bollywood right now.”

“One of the areas where Indian film industry really lacks is the fact we have very few action oriented roles for women. I hope that changes some time in the future. I hope messages like these which I am sending can act like feelers. I am looking forward to interesting scripts coming my ways.
