In Bollywood, we do not need a reason to party. Not always. Yesterday, comedian Vir Das, who was last seen as Chandu in the 2010 YRF flick Badmaash Company threw a bash.
Unlike Ranbir Kapoor, who recently had a party at his house emptied by vacationing parents, Vir invited not his friends in the industry, but their dogs instead.
Vir who started his career as a standup comedian on television, invited his costars from forthcoming film Delhi Belly. Since they had bonded on the sets of this Aamir Khan Production's project, he now wanted their pets to bond too.
This party marked the first birthday of Vir's dog Dr Watson. And to give the little pet a doggie surprise, his co-stars Imran Khan and Kunaal Roy Kapoor got along their canine housemates to the party. However, this party was not just restricted to the Delhi Belly starcast as many others turned up with their pets as well.
The party had games like musical chairs, pool games and also a grooming table, not for humans but for their canine buddies. "They called it the barky party!" chuckles a source.
Apart from the birthday celebrations, Vir had another reason to host the party. He announced his newly formed creative event management company, which specialises in arranging dog parties along with the co-owners Shivani and Ragani.
However Vir shied away from commenting, saying, "I have lost my voice and can't talk now."
Considering the actor must be exhausted after all the fun he had with his pet last evening, we decided not to push him further.
