Couples love to celebrate their anniversaries with great joy and pomp. That's what actors Aditya Hitkari and Divya Palat did when they rang in their fifth anniversary in Australia.
Aditya and Divya had been to Australia in the past too and they love the place completely. "This country has a little bit of everything and it appeals to us completely. From fine dining hangouts to adventure sports and romantic spots, you have a varied offering to choose from," says an excited Divya.
Being there for their honeymoon too, Aditya and Divya have special memories of the place. "We have spent special time with together — from going to the Sydney Opera House, jumping off an aeroplane 14,400 feet above the ground, watching concerts, sea plane ride and to gorging on food at a quiet, private, romantic hideaway, the memories are never ending," shares Divya.
But this time we are sure Aditya and Divya had a different experience compared to what they had in the past. "We went to Kangaroo Island and Uluru Islands. They were beautiful," says Aditya. Sharing the light moments, Divya says, "The hotel where we stayed looked straight out of a James Bond flick —it was made with sheer glass and had an incredible cliff drop where we could see the ocean. The cliff overlooks virgin beaches and forest. In Uluru, we stayed in luxury tents perched at a height and spent our day understanding the aboriginal culture."
For Aditya, "Melbourne's the most happening city to be in. It is young and alive with a completely edgy European vibe. We took a helicopter ride and were shown the eight rock structures that stood in Apollo Bay. In Sydney, the Opera House and the Bridge Climb are a must, while the Hidden Streets, Arcades tour in Melbourne are worth visit."
For someone who has been there quite a few times, we ask them that what are the places one should not miss visiting there? "Don't ever miss Sydney, the Opera House and the Bridge Climb. Go to the Hidden Streets, Arcades tour in Melbourne, small cafes and local stores. Go to Uluru and see the stars! And go to the Gold Coast for sun, surf and some fabulous theme parks," tells Divya.
And for foodies, Divya recommends Australian cuisine. "Every dish is a surprise in itself. Exquisitely plated, with rich texture and sauces. I would recommend the sea food strongly. It is a must try," says Divya on a parting note.
