Bipasha Basu goes Hollywood

MUMBAI: There is no denying that Bollywood beauties are appreciated around the world. With that being said it comes as no surprise that B-town babe Bipasha Basu caught the eye of English-French director Roland Joffe's.

The latest report is that Basu has signed on to Joffe's film, Singularity. This would be Bipasha Basu's first international project. Bips had a chance encounter with the director at the Taj Land's End Hotel in Mumbai this past September.

The 33 million dollar flick is a love story set across two time periods and continents. The story follows a British officer in colonial India who falls in love with an Indian woman during the First Anglo-Maratha War of the 18th century. The film is set to be shot this week in Australia. Sources say that Basu is being flown into Brisbane. The film will also be shot in India.

Although Basu is excited about her new project she wishes she had more time to go over her role, "I am not getting much of preparation time right now. I have been given just eight days to prepare for underwater scenes and horse riding...I wish I had at least a month's time for preparation," she commented.

The actress also said of the project, "the script is fantastic. They have a lot of expertise in their field...it's going to be a whole lot of hard work, and it's going to be great fun to adapt to their system of working."

The film also stars Hollywood actors Josh Hartnett, Olga Kurylenko, Chris Pine, Christopher Egan, Shane Briant, and Bollywood actor Abhay Deol. Bips and the crew are set to be in Brisbane till the end of December.

Do you think Bipasha will turn into the next Hollywood superstar? Or should she stick to her B-town roles? Drop your comments below.
