Same sex couples at DID auditions

There are certain walks of life that draw gay men in hordes ... be it fashion, interior decoration or dance!

These professions, without a doubt, have a queer predominance. Creatively inclined, they have been observed to excel at fine arts. No wonder then at the auditions of the latest season of Dance India Dance, which is a hunt for India's best dancing Jodi, saw some interesting same sex couples turning up to dance! Making a mark from among the hundreds who came to audition in Lucknow were Mahesh Tamang and his partner Rahul.

If the reports from the sets are to be believed, Mahesh who dresses up in drag was so convincing and beautiful as a girl that several red-blooded men from the crew who were ogling at "her" were devastated on finding out that "she" is actually a "he"! Mahesh Tamang floored Master Geeta Kapoor who hugged him saying, "I wish more women could learn to dance as gracefully like you!" Equally deserving is a mention of Pankaj from Jaipur who had jaws dropping with his vigorous Munni jig accompanied by a dwarf-sized Chulbul " Dabangg" Pandey. Their sense of comic timing was to be seen to be believed!

Both the couples have shot to the Top 50 at DID Doubles.

Karan, another DID Doubles contestant has an inspirational story. He had met with a fatal accident 5 years back and since then his elbow movements are restricted but this did not deter him from learning dance from an American choreographer, Mia Michaels. Karan and Karling were like a runaway express train on stage and their frenzied skill and military precision sent shivers down the judges' spine.
