Shakira announces split with longtime beau

BOGOTA: Shakira and her Argentine boyfriend of 11 years say in a note on the Colombian pop star's website that they have split up.

Shakira and Antonio de la Rua say they decided in August to "take time apart" from their romantic relationship but kept the details private until now.

The note posted Monday says the two view their separation as temporary, and adds that de la Rua will continue to oversee Shakira's business and career interests. He is the son of a former president of Argentina.

A person close to the couple says they are now together in Paris. The person insisted on speaking anonymously, noting the subject's sensitivity.

The 33-year-old Shakira said in various interviews in 2009 that she was ready to have babies.

Hrithiks b-day bash

Hrithik Roshan celebrated his birthday in style with his close friends and industry associates. Shades were in at this night party as Shah Rukh Khan and Zayed Khan both flaunted designer shades.

Family members made sure that they kept a close eye so that guests have no reason to complain. Shilpa Shetty Kundra (that red sure looks good on her) was with her hubby Raj Kundra and sister Shamita Shetty. Twinkle Khanna too turned up for the bash as did Farhan Akhtar and Ritesh Sidhwani.

Deepika Padukone and Sidhartha Mallya arrived in a car together. Others seen at the do were Katrina Kaif, Dino Morea, Surily Goel, Kunal Kapoor, Uday Chopra, Rocky S and Chunky Panday. But the babe of the night was Karisma Kapoor (God, her oomph is just soaring with age!) who sported a black ensemble and looked stunningly sexy.

A starry shopping fest in Delhi

It was the coldest Sunday evening in the past 42 years... yet Delhiites could not resist coming to Connaught Place's Inner Circle, as it was the grand finale of the Citibank CP Shopping Festival, partnered by Delhi Times.

The Navy Jazz and Brass Band set the mood, as the crowd gathered to catch a glimpse of the celebrities who came in one by one to grace the festive occasion.

We heard some oohs and aahs when Vijender Singh stepped in, and addressed the crowd. And the boxer – with his gelled and spiked hair – along with Kunal (the masterchef we saw on TV with Akshay Kumar, remember?), gave away a swanky car to Saugat Suri, an 11-year-old girl, who had won this as a prize in the festival. We learnt from her mom Neeru Suri that it was the little winner's birthday eve that day. Didn't we say that this fest is a treat? Later, when we caught up with Vijender, he told us, "CP toh waise bhi mujhe apna sa lagta hai, so I am very happy to be here."

'TURNING' UP ON TIME: As the Rajputana Rifles' band ensured there was music that suited the occasion, Atul Bhargava, president, New Delhi Traders Association (NDTA), said, "The footfalls have increased in the past few months, yet I would like to tell people that shopping in CP is an altogether new experience now, and they shouldn't miss the chance." While Varun Dutt, director, Infopreneurs, was chatting with Vijender and Kunal, his colleague Ajay Sood announced that the cast of "Turning 30" has arrived. And entered Gul Panag, Alankrita Shrivastava, Purab Kohli and Siddharth Makkar. Gul and Alankrita took the mike and announced, "We both are Delhiites, so we will wish you guys together," and said a big hello that cheered up the crowd. But for us, it was hard to digest that the two are from this city. Arre, they came on time, na (Delhi celebs, please take lessons)! Then it was time for Purab to address the crowd, so he began with, "I came to Delhi for the first time at the age of 5, and lived in CP.

At that time, I didn't know how big and wonderful this city is..." There was a slight interruption. Girls were excited and were cheering, which ahem... made Purab blush, and end up joking, "I think all the girls who are shouting will certainly watch my film." Some more music, more cheering, and of course, celebs obliging with photo-ops later... the grand celebrations at the C-Block parking area came to an end.

Salman wont accept SRKs apology

Shah Rukh Khan apologised to Salman on a talk-show. Salman Khan insists that was no apology.

Shah Rukh Khan stunned the world when he apologised to Salman Khan on a talk show on television hosted by Karan Johar. With the onset of a New Year, one thought that these foes would surely turn into friends once again, but Salman Khan isn't in the mood of forgiving and forgetting.

In fact, he says that Shah Rukh's apology was hardly an apology at all. Sallu disclosed to a close friend of his that if Shah Rukh really meant and wished to apologise, he would have either picked up the phone and called him up, or come over to his house. Going on national TV wasn't the right way. Well, it looks like it's going to be a while before these two Khans begin to see eye-to-eye.

In the meantime, Aamir Khan and Salman Khan have become good friends and were seen bonding recently at Imran Khan and Avantika Malik's sangeet bash held at Karjat.

I dont feel married Imran

Bollywood's chocolate boy Imran Khan finally bid adieu to bachelorhood and married long time girlfriend Avantika Malik here Monday. He said he is very happy.

The couple is off to Thailand Tuesday for their honeymoon but not alone - 50 guests will be accompanying the newly-weds.

Imran, who had been dating Avantika for the past eight years, had a registered marriage at his superstar uncle Aamir Khan's house in Pali Hill.

After the wedding, Imran came to his house with his newlywed wife in a black Porsche decorated with white flags with "Just Married" written on them. The house was decorated with flowers and lights

Both wore beautiful traditional wedding costumes - Avantika was wearing a light grey lehenga choli with a red border and gold work and Imran was dressed in a black bandhgala.

"I'm not feeling married right now, it will take some time to sink in. I'm very happy" Imran told reporters after reaching home.

Asked how he felt after breaking the hearts of his female fans, the 27-year-old said: "I've been in a relationship for the past eight years so the point of breaking hearts doesn't arise. Everyone always knew that I'm dating and was never single, so getting married is nothing new."

Imran's maternal uncle, Aamir was dressed in black sherwani with self-print and a maroon churidar and his wife Kiran Rao went traditional too, donning a purple-gold lehenga choli.

"We are very happy for both of them and all our blessing are with them. I hope they have a happy married life and have lots of kids," said a visibly elated Aamir.

The actor will be hosting a grand reception once the couple returns from their honeymoon. The date has not been fixed, but it is scheduled for the end of this month.

After the wedding, the couple hosted a quiet dinner for close family and friends at Taj Lands End Hotel.

Salman's mystery girl revealed

The truth finally reveals itself. For the past few days, a lot of whispers have been doing the rounds about a new mystery girl in Sallu's life.

Spotted first with the actor at the Mumbai airport after he landed from Dubai a few days ago, this woman accompanied him to Imran Khan's sangeet ceremony as well.

The truth is that this woman is an American who is actually Sallu's friend Paul Parmar's girlfriend. Paul is the bearded man in the backseat with her.

A friend of Salman's told Mumbai Mirror, "Sallu is rather amused at the speculation. Paul, who stays in the US, is down in Mumbai. His girlfriend has accompanied him and they've been travelling with Sallu off and on."

So, all you women, listen up: apna Sallu is very much single.

Big Boss Season 5

That's what celeb astrologer Bejan Daruwala predicts

The fifth season of reality show 'Bigg Boss' is not even in talks yet, but celebrity astrologer Bejan Daruwala has already predicted that Salman Khan has a big chance of hosting it.

The 79-year-old Daruwala, who came in for the finale of 'Bigg Boss 4', was in his usual cheery mood as he danced and cracked jokes. When show host Salman asked him who will win the show, Daruwalla said: "I see there is a tough competition between Shweta Tiwari and Dolly Bindra."

Then he laughed and quickly added: "But I can see that you (Salman) will host the next season as well."

Will the prediction come true, considering that no host has ever been repeated in the past seasons of 'Bigg Boss'? Arshad Warsi was the first to host the reality show in 2007, followed by 'Celebrity Big Brother' winner and actress Shilpa Shetty who hosted the second season in 2008. For the third season in 2009, Amitabh Bachchan was roped in.

Do you think Salman will be back to host 'Bigg Boss' next season? Tell us what you think!
