Emraan Rajput’s Collection at Karachi Fashion Week 2010

After the huge success of Karachi Fashion Week 2009, its sequel was held recently and gathered a massive success and sensation.
Among exuberant displays by many other local Pakistani fashion designers and international fashion designers from Malaysia, newly emerged fashion designer Emraan Rajput also presented his fascinating collection designed on traditional fashion lines fused with western inspiration. Emraan Rajput’s collection chiefly comprised of formal menswear including shalwar kameez and kurtas with a classic cut. Remarkable embroidery work and salient embellishments added that extra bling to the designs.
Tall men walking down in immaculately designed sherwanis and other formal and occasional menswear was a massive hit and gathered much acclaim to Emraan’s creative brilliance during the 4-day Karachi Fashion Week 2010.
One of the toughest and perhaps the most popular fashion line in Pakistan – in fact – anywhere in the world is wedding line or formal wedding wear, whether it’s for brides or bridegroom. However, a young talent in the field, fashion designer Emraan still beats many for his distinct sense of style and appealing collections.

Hotstepper Of The Week Vaneeza Ahmed

The billboards splashed at key positions in the street are arresting. One of the most well-known and arguably most beautiful faces, Vaneeza Ahmed stares out at you. You can't see what she's wearing but the face is enough. Vaneeza is out with her V Lawn and the adverts with a close up of hers show that she doesn't need to show the prints. People will come to buy her lawn, which is what they did when V9 was launched two years ago.

Vinny has consciously distanced herself from V9 and Mohammad Farooq Textiles, but the break up doesn't mean that she stopped in her tracks. With a tie up with the gigantic Sitara Textiles, she continues doing what she did last time. Welcome to the new celebrity driven world. Vinny doesn't need to create a brand… she is a brand herself. She can make lawn, ready to wear, furniture or even her own range of skin care products and everything will fall under brand Vaneeza. All she needs to do is figure out how to do it.

And one thing Vaneeza is known for is charting new territory when it comes to her profession. She took the plunge into acting when modeling seemed to saturate for her and from there she moved on to launch many a product for different brands.

Possibly the smoothest operator around in the modeling world since Frieha Altaf, Vaneeza began by working for fashion and soon figured out how to make fashion work for her. She is now an entrepreneur in charge of brand Vaneeza and with her new tie up with Sitara Textiles, she has branched out into three more lines - V Embroidery, V Khaadi and V Men that will all be available alongside the regular V Lawn prints at the exhibitions.

And for taking things as they come and pole-vaulting into business using modeling as a platform, Vaneeza is our hotstepper of the week. She will jump right off a cliff when she has to and you can rest assured that she will land on her feet. Life is a game of risks and Vaneeza has mastered the art of playing it.

Vaneeza V Lawn exhibitions are on at:
PC , Karachi
5th-7th April
PC, Lahore:
11th-13th April
Serena, Islamabad:

Vaneeza Ahmed

Vaneeza Ahmed the most refreshing face in the business and one of the most amiable dispositions. In the field of modeling ruled by catty tactics .... she is the cattiest of them all. She’s one of the ambitious models we have in Pakistan- and she has no qualms about admitting it. She travels back and forth, shuttling between her hometown Lahore and the city where dreams come true - Karachi. She knows that this exercise is worth her while. Vaneeza Ahmed, the Lahori supermodel that gave the Karachi beaus a hard time - she’s got what it takes.... all that it takes, to get to where she is today. She is from Kinnaird College Lahore and from there as a student she launched herself in a career, she never thought to be hers. So, from modeling for Neelofer Shahid’s couture she went on to a photo shoot with the best in the business - Ather Shehzad the duo responsible for introducing some of the finest models today..... and the discovery of Vaneeza aka Vinny also falls to their credit. That’s how the journey started for this charming splendor and along the way added accolades to list of merits. She has left no stone unturned. From modeling to acting she did it all- played the leading lady in Jamal Shah’s controversial saga, graced the cover pages of the countries top publications off and on, went as far as Mauritius to prove her love for acting and of course sashayed down the catwalk with the grace of a swan- how many times? She has lost all count. But one thing worth remembering is her role as ‘Dina’- in the movie Jinnah where she has played the role of Quaid’s daughter and they say… she played it well. She's worked hard to get where she is today. She's come a long way in a very short time, and the way she's going, she'll go a long long way.
